Mandate contract or sole trader: what suits a driver?
Compare earnings after all costs, not just the service fee. Include app fees, fuel, vehicle costs, insurance, accounting, tax and contributions. Results depend on income and circumstances.
Compare what remains
The partner fee alone cannot determine the right model. List expected revenue, working days, fuel, servicing, insurance, rental and administration. Then account for your individual tax and contribution position. There is no universally better choice: occasional work and a multi-vehicle business may need very different arrangements. Compare the amount left after all costs, together with the responsibilities involved.
What to establish for a mandate contract
Establish the details needed for correct settlement: other employment, student status, age and tax circumstances. Report changes because an earlier deduction treatment may no longer fit. Ask for an example statement and an explanation of each line, and agree how annual documents will be delivered. Not having a business does not remove the need to review the contract and final settlement.
What to establish for a business
For your own business, define accounting scope, sales and expense records, and responsibility for deadlines. If a partner provides support, identify exactly what is included and what remains yours to handle. Keep business accounting separate from an earnings illustration. Our calculator subtracts only the 50 zł weekly fee: it does not select a tax method or calculate your individual contributions.
Prepare for the discussion
Prepare cautious and expected revenue scenarios. Include days without work and fixed costs that continue during a break. Explain whether the car is owned, financed or rented. Ask for the assumptions and comparison date to be recorded. Make the decision using your own circumstances and current rules, rather than a general promise of higher take-home income.
